MACEDON. Cassandraea. Commodus, as Caesar, 166-177. Assarion (Bronze, 20 mm, 6.05 g, 11 h). IM L AVR COM Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right. Rev. COL IVL AVG CAS Neptune standing front, head to left, holding dolphin in his right hand and trident in his left. RPC IV online 7825 (1 specimen, same dies). Extremely rare, perhaps the second known example. Very fine.
